Shortly after my "thumbs down" post on Vista this morning I rebooted to the message

Missing operating system>

Thanks to the time difference I was able to make a 5¢ Skype call from Australia  to OQO tech support where Matt was connected promptly and walked me through the BIOS screen I hadn't previously examined to show me how to set up reboot from the OSO DVD.

How refreshing to have such good technical support so near at hand.

Of course I have to re-install Vista and the partition but only yesterday I upgraded to Acronis True Image 11 and a complete backup of my C: drive awaits on my external hard drive!

Conspiracy theorists would like to say:

"Big brother Microsoft is watching!"

I don't think so.
