I have been having a bit of a nightmare with OQO support via email.
This is the support incident so far:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Question:
Hi,
I have an OQO Model e2 1.6Ghz 32GB SSD HSDPA unit and have just
installed Vista and all the drivers from your website.
I have installed the Novatel drivers and software and it is enabled in
the Bios (although it says EV-DO in bios). The software works fine and
connects but the OQO Wireless Manager can't seem to see the card? It
says "radio not detected"?
WLAN is also working fine and connecting through Windows but the OQO
Wireless Manager says "No Wifi device present"?
Bluetooth is detected and says "Radio off" which is fine because I
turned it off.
How can I get OQO Manager to work?
I tried uninstalling it and re-installing but the same results as above.
Thanks
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OQO Response:
Download and reload the Nocatel
and OQO manager. In that order.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Response:
That did not work.
I uninstalled the Novatel Driver and the Mobilink software and the OQO
Manager and rebooted.
Then I installed the Novatel Driver and then the Mobilink software and
then the OQO Manager and rebooted.
Everything works fine but the OQO Manager says the same as before? No
Wifi device present and WWAN radio not detected.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OQO Response:
What is the Mobilink software?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Response:
OMG, It's on your download page:
Mobilink Connection Manager 2.02.25.007
http://www.oqo.com/intl/support/downloads_vista_intl.htmlMobilink Connection Manager and WWAN device drivers for the OQO model e2.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OQO Response:
Thanks for the link. I've never seen the 2e side of OQO web site.
What is the version numbers for the Novatel and OQO Manager
drivers you are using.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Response:
This is like pulling teeth!
I am using the driver that is shown on the site! The link I sent you shows the version number on the screen, that is the one I am using. We are making no progress at all here.
I have managed to get a copy of the V2 OQO Manager and installed it. WLAN is now shown and Bluetooth but no HSDPA.
Maybe this information would be helpful:

It is a copy of the data on the support page of the OQO settings in the control panel. I notice that Sigmatel Version says Cant find OEMINFO.ini maybe this has something to do with the problem.
Thanks

I placed this support incident on the 6th Feb and by the 13th Feb we have made absolutely no progress. I am sure they are asking silly questions hoping I will just go away.
We should have a support unit in the UK that can deal with e2 units and deliver the type of service we need. The units cost loads and I would expect better support than this.
Dennis if your reading this can you look into this and see if you can help. The support ref is 080206-000012.
I still love my OQO, I just hope I don't need to contact the support team very often.
