Hello,

I have an OQO 02, from Dynamism, 4 month old. Nothing special till now, working well, pleased with.

Recently, I noticed that the standard battery will discharge almost completely(from full)  with the computer closed, in less than a week.

Any suggestion?

Thank you

When you say closed do you mean off?  Cause it's you just mean that the screen is closed than the computer is still on and using power even if it's hibernating.

When the computer is in sleep mode, the battery gets drained, and when in hibernating mode, the battery itself can be put into deep sleep mode to conserve power.

Hello,

Sorry for my English. I meant off, shut down.

Not sleeping or hibernating. I know about these two options and battery draining.

I also tried the reset procedure (one press 10 sec. , second press...) with full draining and full recharge, but ...

Any idea?

thank you

If you're shutting it down completely then the battery should last a lot longer than a week. Is it fully charged when you shut down?

I charged my standard battery and then forgot about it for almost three months (using the double capacity). When I put it back on my OQO there was 89% charge remaining.

Good point.  If you're using up the battery til it's nearly dead and then let it sit, that may be enough time to discharge the remaining amount.

When you fully charge the battery are you getting the "normal" amount of computing time out of the battery?  Do you get a good 2 hours or so?

My understanding is that in Windows, "standby" is a low power mode where various things
are shut down, whereas "hibernate" is a total shut down where the computer's state is saved in a file and restored upon power up.  The battery drain in hibernate should be no more than when
totally powered down.  Standby will drain the battery.

That is true in theory but if I remember correctly the OQO 01/01+ was drawing power even when in Hibernate.  I think it had something to do with the USB port.

If that is true why don't we have instant boots?
