When I bought my OQO 02, I acquired True Image 11 to make disk image backups. Unfortunately, the recovery disk (either retail in the box, or made with True Image build 8053) did not work properly. When booting from the recovery disk, the full version wouldn't see the hard disks and the safe mode wouldn't recognize the USB external HDD for a backup. Only options were (1) load full True Image into Windows and do backups from within XP - not useful in the event of a full crash, or (2) make a BartPE disk with True Image plug in - feasible but somewhat complicated.
This led to a long series of emails with Acronis support staff, many sysinfo reports, trying various new builds of True Image that didn't work. I figured that since I'd paid for the software, let's see where this goes.
Finally, the ISO they sent the other day works fine. True Image now sees the internal SDD. I can boot off the recovery disk and make sector images onto an external USB HDD. I have not tried a real disk recovery, but True Image properly recognizes
the images I've made.
So if you a registered True Image owner having the same problems and haven't given up completely on Acronis, send
an email to
support@acronis.comrefer to support ticket 1272172 and ask for ISO build 8082 for the OQO model 02.
Silly of me to get roped into unpaid consulting for Acronis, I know, but it was a puzzle to be solved.
