Hello everyone!  I have been working on this OQO Mac project with my dad, and also on other PC's on my own for quite a while now and have been following these forums to see what comes out of this fun project.   Grin  The OQO community seems like a very friendly group so I registered and I am glad to finally be a part of it.

Welcome JT!!!

lol - we can dream though.  Cheesy

I wonder whether or not Apple are kicking themselves for never taking the OQO prototype further when it was originally developed there.

I think in the not to distant future we will see a small  itouch type of tablet from them

if Apple wants an OQO sized machine they will have one.  In the end the market is only so big for this machine.  I am sure OQO would be willing to com up with a new case and license the inside of the machine to Apple and would jump on it if offered.

Also there iPod touch and iPhone are good alternatives to the OQO

Me too! I started reading up on OSx86/EFI emulation in anticipation of this. Fasincating stuff.
I think TRF & JT are using some variant of Kalyway 10.5.2 for this wonderful hack.

Hello again,
Back at it after a few days out of town.  The instruction set is harder than you would think.  While we have made sound and wifi work, getting these feature's setup steps outlined in a straightforward way that can be easily duplicated takes some work.  OS install and sound setup is now finished.  We are working on a simplified wifi setup process.  I am also working on WWAN and JT is working to see if inking is possible, although it is a long shot.
On the WWAN front I have found a MAC Verizon Access software package but have not yet tried it.  I have to finish wifi step instructions first.

We admire your enthusiasm and appreciate your patience.

Does OSX still come with Inkwell built-in? I remember it used to be there in Jaguar but I'm not too sure if it's still there now. Huh

I wish it was as easy as just installing a program to make these things work like you mention lol  We have to modify the kexts (drivers) in order for it to recognize things such as Audio, wifi, USB, Tablet, WWAN, Video.  If anybody knows how to create kexts to the right hardware and could contact us it would speed things up on getting VIDEO working, then we could post a walkthrough.   Grin
