Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista in Windows Update

Hey all,
I've just noticed that Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista has appeared in Windows Update. Does this mean it's ready for us OQO users to install? I don't want to go installing it until the bugs have been ironed out.

As of 5 p.m. PDT Sunday it is not being offered to my OQO/Vista. I remember a few days ago an IDT sound driver appeared on WU which I hid due to bad reports from some in this forum who tried it. Hopefully you are not using automatic updates for drivers. Can anyone think of a reason why SP1 would be offered to OQO with the original Sigmatel driver?
As a separate issue, I read today that Microsoft has pulled SP1 off of automatic updates while continuing to offer it on WU for manual install. There is an April 29th article on CNET explaining why:

That's interesting. Maybe people were complaining about how big the file was (400 megs! Ouch!!!). Yep, that IDT driver was shocking! My sound completely disappeared - the driver rollback worked until I turned off my system, then I had to reinstall the Sigmatel driver.

I believe for computers updated with all updates prior to SP1, the WU version (whether auto or manual) should be 65 MB. However, the standalone download (not from WU) is around 400 MB. In any case, if you reinstalled the Sigmatel driver I would expect SP1 would NOT appear on WU. Are you saying that you saw SP1 on WU after you reinstalled Sigmatel?

Yeah and I just double checked and it's still there. Does it appear on yours?

No, SP1 is still not offered on WU as of 5/7/08. Just to make sure, I verified that I had installed all the "prerequisite" updates and even a non-prerequisite one that I had previously tried to hide but reappeared on WU on 5/7/08 (the counterfeit-Vista check). Consequently the only reason WU does not show SP1 must be the two Sigmatel driver files which are older than 12/17/07. According to OQO, they have not been updated since 5/15/07 (original factory install). I would appreciate it if anyone who did not mess with their Sigmatel driver let us know whether or not SP1 is/was ever available to them on WU.

I tried installing SP1 on my 02 and I got an error message stating that a file that was needed was not found. It was almost done installing the update when it happened. Not sure if it was a hiccup or not meant to take the update

Now that would have been annoying. I would have thought it would have looked for all necessary files before initializing the installation.
Remember GOD tests our patience in strange ways (including when we use Windows - lol).

I've been running Vista SP1 since about a week it came out, asked OQO if it was OK to do so they said yes.
It did break my Office 2007 install, would load but error with "file cannot be found" on any open attempt. Repair from inside windows didn't fix, but a repair from the install files brought it all back again.

Well, I decided after it showed up again that I'd give it a try and after two days of use all appears to be working normally and I haven't yet come across any faults. Audio and all other drivers seems fine. I do have to say that I haven't seen any speed increases though - in fact I think my system is probably running a little slower now that SP1 is installed but that could just be me.

Thats why I think I might wait before installing, I hate to go through the process without gaining anything.

Is SP1 offered in Windows Update for your OQO?

Did you install it from the Standalone package or from Windows Update? If from WU, did you at any point install the IDT driver from WU?
Have you experienced any problems with the sound/audio jack?
Can you install new USB devices? Kyone said he lost that ability:
