Hi all,

I've been looking at the forums and I can't seem to find anyone having the same issue
Yesterday I tried to install XP on a Vista Ultimate based OQO 02, everything went well and now I have a dual boot OQO 02  Grin

Problem comes when everytime I shut down XP, the screen freezes and it stays like that even after the machine shuts down (I can hear the fan and hard drive switching off but the screen still lights up) therefore I have to press the power button to completely turn it off

Is anyone having the same issue ?

Have you installed any third party software that could be causing the OS to do this? If it gets to the shutdown screen then it sounds as if all third party apps have closed properly though - a bit confusing.  Huh

I would guess ACPI issues. Check the device manager for conflicts.
Which XP did you install?

You will get this till you have finished installing all of the OQO drivers and OQO manager etc. Don't worry, it had me a bit concerned first time. Sometimes it stays till you have loaded SP2 as well for good measure. It is just the Laptop power management support missing on the std XP discks till they are patched.

This also happens to Windows 2000 as well. There must be a ACPI module in the oqomanager package. Without this module, XP/2K cannot talk to the BIOS (such as telling it to shut down). Too bad, the oqomanager is not compatible to the Win2k kernal so this problem cannot be fixed.
