CA comes bundled with my ISP and appears to do a good job. I just can't see paying for something twice.

Most of them do, but the difference in speed/performance and features between them can be huge.

I regularly test drive them for I/O speed and CPU usage, but if somebody knows of a faster AV product (with a decent feature set/quality) for Windows than NOD32, I'm interested.

I have AVG free set up on my OQO, I basically do what everyone does, be wary of the .exe's that I download, and just use lots of common sense. I haven't had a virus in years (last time was when I started learning about computers) and really I don't have particular reason why I still use one. I just know I am not gonna pay for it.

Gee whizz, you guys are lucky! We have so many come through on the Mac in junk e-mails. Norton always promptly picks them up and removes them. This would at least happen once or twice per week.

I haven't had any on my OQO yet but then again I use the web-based Yahoo which probably makes a difference since I generally don't open up the spam e-mails.

Why don't you use gmail as mail box... the anti virus included in it is very powerful. I haven't seen any virus passing it.... so you basically don't need one more on the PC..
For office mailbox.... we have norton on exchange server....
On my oqo ... for one year i get more power and battery live without any anti vrirus

Could Norton  be the reason that my Vista was so slow? I removed Vista and installed XP because it was creeping. Although, XP is pretty fast even with Norton installed. So, I am not sure what it could have been. I am willing to install Vista again with no Norton If it will make a differance

I am not speaking from personal experience (don't use AV software) but I frequent Microsoft support newsgroups especially microsoft.public.windows.vista.performance_maintenance.  If anyone complains about just about anything, the first advice is to remove Norton.  Even though it will make a difference, keep in mind that the OQO is only Vista capable and that it is generally agreed that XP will be faster on any computer.
