I backed up my C drive (I have the 64G SSD partitioned into 3 drives) using True Image 10. It seemed to work fine. Then some drivers got corrupted and I thought it would be easier just to restore the image, just as I do on my desktop computer. It seemed to restore just fine, I got the restore was successful message. However it would not boot. I tried several time with no success. I am now starting over with the factory restore, but I really would prefer to use an imaging backup for future protection. I bought Shadow Protect (3.1) but I notice it does no include Vista on the notice of operating sysems that it works with. Does anyone know if it will work with Vista, or have other suggestions for backup imaging programs that will work with Vista and with the OQO.

I have used PING to successfully backed up and restore my OQO. I fully tested it many times. It is free and supports all OS including Vista.

I have experienced exactly the same problem: the imaging claimed successful backup and restore, but my oqo was corrupted after restore. With PING (PartImage), it has a very verbose
log. As long as the log does not contain any error message, it is a guaranteed good backup/restore.

See my earlier thread.

edelson9, maybe try downloading the demo for True Image Home 11 and restore your image with that. I had an issue with my laptop where I couldn't restore a Vista image with True Image 9. The demo for 11 worked.

Note that he is using XP, not Vista. Before relying on it do a forum search for 3 words: acronis, image, and vista.
