Be careful before you buy gadgets designed in Korea. They usually seem very cool in the first glance, but later you'll find some very little but extremely annoying things, especially on keyboard. The old example is the useless keyboard of Samsung Nexio S160, the newest example is the Everun. I just took a look at the keyboard of this LG and I can tell immediately they did such little but huge thoughtless thing again: the right shift key should be replaced with Fn, otherwise it is very difficult to use the arrows and pg up and dn. If the Fn and other temporary keys cannot stick, then the keyboard is useless. What's that big Ex key for? Is a Fn not hassle enough? Such little things are obvious, but Korean engineers do like to do them in a strange way to kill otherwise a great and perfect product. To Korean gadgets, the gap between perfect and garbage is only 1 inch.

Yes, the M528 runs XP:

Its power jack is also a standard one - 2 pins. OQO's proprietary DC simply pisses me off.

The battery life is the same class of OQO, 2 hours:

http://umpcfever.com/news/?postid=828

But it is significantly thinner and lighter, a double-cap battery will be very acceptable and will certainly not cost $200. Even with the standard battery, I can easily add my own external power because it has a very standard 5V DC jack.

GPS, 2 cameras, USB-client/host ports, 3G, SD and SIM slots are all included.

OQO is now in big trouble.

the gigabyte m528(usa version) and umpc fever's-aigo(asian version
of m528) have the same cpus and basically similar specs and are identical units- but
the aigo has a 2700mah 3.7v battery, while if u look at tegatech
website it shows the m528 with a 3060mah 3.7v battery. so the m528
should last about 13.33% longer.

i'm not as drastic as you... i love my OQO. But the competitors are shipping more and more advanced devices than OQO in some aspects, and with a lot better prices.

I think OQO must renew or add some standard features to his device:

+Touch or multitouch screen... see iPhone, future Windows7, all new devices
+power processor = NANO
+more memory for Vista 2Gb standar.
+better battery life ... see U2010
+A-GPS
+web and 5M digital camera.

If your price is the double of the gigabyte device but with this configuration...i buy one for me and offer it to y customers... but if your price is 2000 or 3000 $...  Cry Think in MID market, in ASUS eee PC, in Acer Aspire ONE, Dell E.... None more than 500$...  Cry Is OQO only a very little niche product...  Huh or must be a winner like iphone or asus eeepc? i think all want the second option.. Cheesy

I hope OQO stay in the market ... in a winner manner Grin

As far as I'm concerned there are no competitors shipping a 1 lb, shirt-pocketable, Windows Vista device with WiFi, WWAN, Bluetooth, and a dock that allows it to be a replacement for a desktop PC (at any price).

I agree with your comments Ron.
I'm a happy OQO user, and recommend and sells OQOs for my customers.

But the market moves very quickly, there are devices with some features OQO must have, because are standard in any gadget.

When te unique solution is OQO you must pay any price. You are right. Wink
But when a customer pay 2000$ nowadays for a mini computer the questions are always the same: Huh

Touch screen
Cameras
Gps

Gigabyte M528 is not comparable to OQO (Vista, hsdpa, perforance, space, form factor, keyboard), but in other surpase it (price and features like the previously mentioned)

OQO 02 is a hot product, but I hope OQO 03 will be a real winner Grin
