Well... I can't help myself, but is the OQO 01+ power supply always THAT loud/noisy ?
I can't believe it... I can't charge my OQO while I'm sleeping, it just sounds like a swarm of Bee's flying around my neck...

So all other users, is it really that loud, or did I pick up a broken one ? =(

Greets to all, Julian =)

It can be loud on dirty power yes. I've seen posts its also loud on 50hz power.
The 01+ PSU should been replaced or exchanged by OQO if you ask me. It's been a huge problem for 01 users. Every one of them is Im sure out of warrenty by now.

Can you please tell us what part of the world you are in and what power you have?

Since you have an 01+ I'm sure you have the PSU with DC in. You can charge it with DC if you have a PSU that can provide you with 11-14volts dc. This should cause the transformer for mains to be off.

I'm from Germany actually... Wink

But I don't really know what you explicitly want to hear now Smiley
and I don't either know what you just told me about replacing the SPU ^^

Out of warranty ? :O
I just purchased my OQO off of Expansys 3 weeks ago, so there should be warranty on it, no ?

Your PSU has a 12volt DC plug on it. If you don't like the BUZZ of the PSU pluged into your wall outlet. You can plug in 12volts to the DC plug and you will not hear the BUZZ of the transformer.

All 01/01+ psu's buzz. Some seem to buzz louder on 50hz I don't know why. I'm not an EE.

Ah, I understand Smiley

Where can I get these 12v "adapters" ?
I've never purchased one and I even don't know how it looks like... ^^

But I'm glad to know it's not broken Wink

Read up here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cigar_lighter_receptacle

You will need a device that plugs into your MAIN/WALL and gives you a port to plug in the 12volt auto plug.

Or you can use a PC power supply they all have 12VDC.

I mounted a 12DV female car adapter to a 5 1/2" face plate so I could just plug the 12v adapter right into my PC.

Ah noch ein Deutscher, bin also doch nicht der einzigste  Grin .

Well I also got the problem with the noise of the power supply - but I found out for some strange reason it stops after a while (about 10 minutes). The battery is still loading, but I can't hear the noise anymore, maybe I just get used to it  Cheesy .
