How far are you from your router(s)?  I've never had a wifi problem with my Model 02.  It connects quickly and I can be several rooms away with very good reception.

not that far.  i mean i have my laptop and my iphone and my oqo all next to each other and the oqo has a very poor connection while the iphone and laptop both have good connections.  ive tried it at a couple places with different routers and its all the same.

I seem to get great performance from my Wi-Fi, but then again at uni (where I use it) there are Wi-Fi routers everywhere so I'm probably never more than ten or twenty metres (at most) away from a router. Could the other devices be causing interference? Huh

I have a similar wifi performance issue.  I can have excellent connection on another laptop from the same location as the OQO 02 and the OQO 02 will have a "low" connection.  If someone can help with this it would be greatly appreciated.

I also have experienced problems with wifi. At home I had really limited range and  had to resort to my hsdpa to get connected. What I have found, is that the e2 (at least) does not work well with all wifi routers. I am not sure why, but I changed the antenna on my linksys with an antenna that looks exactly the same, but is orginally for a 802.11g lan-to-wlan unit. Now I have no connection problems at home and the range is a lot, lot better.

At work I have the exact same problems that I experienced at home, but I can't change that antenna Smiley (And of course - It might not solve the problems on all routers!) At work I use a cable or hsdpa.

I noticed I get a very weak signal as well. Could they be driver issues?

That's interesting - I wonder why this is, there has to be some technical reason. Huh

I'll have to try mine out with some more routers.

I have two routers at home and everything including the ipod touch gets better reception then my oqo 02. My bedroom is three rooms away and other laptops and an ipod get good signal, the oqo gets low signal and drops all the time from there. I understand that oqo tries to keep power usage low but it is kidda pathetic that an ipod get better reception. Anyway if anyone knows how to remedy this let me know!

I agree. The strange thing is, my OQO gets a very poor signal in my bedroom which is about 11 metres away, on the same floor as the router. However, when I'm in the cellar which is a lot further away and down two floors, the signal is very good. My house is made of wood, by the way.

Same for me, good thing I have an "unlimited" data plan.

A future 03 needs 802.11n and better antennas.

One driver-related problem that affects the e2 is that it cannot connect to routers using channels 12 and 13. Those channels are not allowed in the US, but are used in Europe. If the router is on channel 12 or 13 it may appear in the list as unknown and the e2 cannot connect to it. I reported it a few months back and OQO said they will get the driver updated, but no news on when that might happen.

I get the same problem, when my laptop is saying excellent signal strength the OQO is only ever fair or good.
