I just got the card ssd samsung from 64 gb but I do not know how you replace the card. I explain how you could create a 'image of the old hard disk and then loaded on the new ssd? ? I can use an external hard disk connected via USB port to make a back up?

Hi Cocalero,
Yep, you should be able to clone your current hard drive to the new SSD if you get the necessary software and a compatible hard disk drive enclosure. It might be worth taking your SSD into your local computer shop so you can make sure you get the correct one. Also, don't format the old drive until you've double-checked that the SSD cloned properly. You may find the links below helpful.
Software
HDClone Free Edition
DriveClone
Acronis True Image
Paragon Drive Copy
Hope this helps.

who kindly explained to me what program I use to copy the hard disk and then how do I proceed with the installation. I am not good with computers who then explains to me every phase of installation will be entitled to an extraction of a tooth of your choice in my dentist
thank you

Once you've successfully cloned your hard drive then it should be as simple as just replacing the old drive with the new one. I wonder if you could pay your local computer shop to do this for you. Of course I'd recommend against all of this if your OQO is still under warranty. In all honesty even if your OQO isn't under warranty then I'd highly recommend that you just leave it the way it is. Can I ask, what are you hoping to achieve with the upgrade?

lol - I wonder if that would void the warranty. Have you considered turning up the fan in the OQO applet in Control Panel? I have mine set fully to cooler (except when I'm in lectures) and don't experience any heat problems. Just an idea.

Well done on the SSD upgrade I did one about 8 months ago. A good investment. BTW I would really caution against selling your 2nd user HDD. It is not just a case of formatting you would need to get a proper wiping program and run it. You can get a 14 day evaluation copy of R-Wipe&clean. But do not ever sell a hard drive after just formatting it. Fraudsters regularly buy HDDs off eBay to get passwords bank account details etc. Armed with a newly formatted hard drive and a few tools they can easily clean out your bank accounts get credit cards in your name and lock you out of all your online accounts.
There are many other versions of disk wiping software out there and this particular one can take upto 12 hours to completely wipe the disk. It is one of the few pieces of software that uses the Peter Gutmann algorithm carrying out 35 passes even exceeding the:
- US Department of Defense DoD 5220.22-M(ECE) (7 passes)
- Canadian RCMP TSSIT OPS-II (7 passes)
- German VSITR (7 passes)
This is as secure as you get other than physically destroying the disc.
