What do you guys think of it on the OQO ?

I have found that if I am doing heavy processing Opera will run slow as expected but Chrome will actually timeout and ask if I want to kill the page or refresh it. 

Other then that it seems quite lean and very usable

Would love to see full screen and grab and drag on this browser, otherwise it's painful on an oqo and I'll stick to firefox for now. Do like the seperate processes for each tab, the speed dial and the google search from address bar.

Yea I agree this browser is fast but on the OQO it is hard because it lacks full page zoom.  Real estate is a premium on these devices and firefox while it performs well allows for an esthetically pleasing experience.  I will stick with firefox for now as well but I have high hopes for chrome.

I like the speed and minimalist design. The ability to drag/detach a tab to a new window (and vice versa) is pretty awesome and something which I've always wished for, but wasn't available in Firefox.
There are a couple of other cool features that I also wasn't aware was available in Firefox except through add-ons. So, it's nice to have them show up as default features. Flash works out of the box but no love for Java.

So far so good on the performance front (in Vista) although I'm using it on my OQO mostly when docked to an external monitor. I agree that a full-screen mode would be a welcomed feature, although hiding the bookmarks (Ctrl-B) is an acceptable compromise.

I miss the mouse gestures from Opera
It would be great if it had BlockAd the same as firefox
While typing this in Chrome I realised (it corrects realised to realized !) it has a built in spell checker, very nice.
As for zoom and full screen the default layout I find to be very good, better then Opera.
And unlike Opera the horizontal scroll works.
It copied the new tab page from Opera. It's a great feature.

The mouse gesture is the only feature I would consider staying with Opera for.  I use it all the time.

As a Firefox user, I appreciate the extensibility of the product. I've can install the extensions that I want to customize Firefox to suit me. Chrome may get there eventually but, for me, I'll stick with Firefox for now.

Dave, please let me know if you find a Firefox extension that's similar to Chrome's dynamic home and new-tab page. It's freaking awesome.

I'm a heavy Firefox user myself, but Chrome's incredibly polished for a beta release and the UI and speed is addictive. Give it some time (for plug-ins and compatibility to improve) and I'm pretty sure it will become the dominant browser... IE8 be damned!

Those who've not yet read the Google Chrome Comic should head down there. It's quite informative, with some Google self-praising thrown in for good measure.

You might look into Speed Dial (most popular by a bit) or Fast Dial (highest rated by a bit). There are other, similar extensions as well. Search for the Opera term "Speed Dial".

I don't know if they will be as dynamic as Chrome's but they might meet your needs.

Thanks Dave, but I don't believe either is dynamic. They also don't include 'Searches', 'Recent bookmarks' or 'Recently closed tabs'.

lol - I'll have to join the queue and say that it hasn't done a lot for me. The concept is interesting but I'll definitely be sticking to Flock and Safari.

I tried Chrome on Vista Business and Hulu videos were very choppy in Chrome while in Firefox, the videos did skip but were fairly viewable.

Yeah. I've found that Google Chrome seems to be handle videos poorly too. I've also had issues like not being able to switch back from full-screen video modes in Chrome. I still keep Chrome around and it's still fast and rather handy for porn I mean, incognito mode. It's currently designated as my 'lite' browser when I don't wish to fire up Firefox.

i had used google chrome til 2months ago. i quit using it because it is really slowing my pc's performance and eating a lot of memory
