I'm pretty much new here.  I just bought a new OQO 01 from eBay.  It only has WinXP Pro.  I'm curious.  I could just install Phatware's PenOffice to get pen recognition, right?  And it will work?  Has anyone done this?  What is their opinion on it and this software?

Congratulations!!! I'm sure you'll love it. I haven't heard of PenOffice but I wonder whether or not you could pick up a cheap (legal) copy of Windows XP Tablet somewhere. Huh I know that there are retailers in the U.S. that sell the older left over stock Mac OS operating systems cheaply so I'd imagine that there'd be somewhere similar for Windows operating systems. Huh

Thanks a lot.  Wow, I checked eBay...and it is, like, $177.

I bought my OQO 01+ Plus with Tablet PC installed (part of the reason for the purchase was the chance to "play" with a Tablet PC on the cheap). Pen recognition etc works, but performance is, as you would expect something as low-powered at the 01+, is sluggish at best and eats up battery life compared with keyboard input.

Would not recommend that you spend big bucks just to gain tablet functionality.
