I am sorry but I am trying to find a way to change some keys functions.. I'd like to get accent on "a and e" by pressing de ' and then those letters.. and get é and
I could manage to do this with vista Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator .... is there anything similar with ubuntu ?

While it's not for the faint of heart (you have to compile it from source), mxk hooks in at a very low level and allows you to intercept any input and remap it, or whatever.
