...Is that an XP issue?  I'm running Vista, so perhaps the two operate differently.
According to OQO's KB it's an 02 issue:

"Use of the digital pen is supported only in the OQO model 02 computer's native 800 x 480 mode.

The digital pen will work correctly and remain calibrated when working in the OQO's native resolution of 800 x 480; if, however, you use the OQO's zoom feature to increase your display's resolution to either 1000 x 600 or 1200 x 720 (both of which are supported screen resolutions for working in zoomed mode), your pen will not retain its calibration and will not work properly. You can, however, work in zoom mode with the keyboard and mouse.

This article applies to:   model 02"

"In the case of the 02, the pen does not work but the mouse does" [in zoom mode] I.E. the original question by oqorogue was whether he would have any problems with the touch screen on the 2+ in zoom mode as he does with the 02 when using the pen.  On the 02 you can zoom in and still use the mouse accurately but not the pen. His point was that that question still remains unanswered, hence I was wrong when I said that all the questions had been answered either in the OQO documentation or on this thread.

To clarify, the pen "works" zoomed out, but the calibration is all off.

I have read and searched this topic and still don't find a direct answer to this question....will the 02+ with Vista and the OLED screen that will be provided on it, allow normal handwriting and handwriting recognition when using a stylus?

Have any alteration been made to the OQO's Bluetooth?  My 02 seemed to lack signal distance.

Speaking of my 02, I'd like ot know what procedureal changes have been made to your repair department.  My OQO has been at your facility for 7 weeks now and CS, today, said that it will be another 2-4 weeks.  I was considering an 02+ but have changed my mind til I am assured that this will not happen should an 02+ need repairs.

I will venture that if you get an answer it will be "yes" which is to say that Vista will allow yoou to use th Tablet Input Panel (TIP) and will attempt to recognize your handwriting.

However, touch screens are not as exact as active digitizers (like the 02 has) which might reduce Vista's recognition accuracy. An even bigger problem is when the touch screen registers a touch from part of your hand (often the palm) while you are inking. This causes the problem known as vectoring where the system draws what it thinks is he correct line between your stylus tip and your other touch point. From the reviews I've read, the 2+ has a less sensitive touch screen so, hopefully, this won't be an issue.
