This, I have to say, is doubtful in my opinion. Maybe 720p is doable though.

I pray that I am wrong though and that 1080p can be displayed.

The 2+ has built-in hardware accelerated decoding (Poulsbo chipset using Intel GMA500 integrated graphics with the PowerVR core), which fully supports both 720p and 1080p HD content.

For full HD resolution, connect the OQO to an external 720p/1080p display using HDMI.

I am aware of the HDMI port, but SADLY it doesn't send over voice.  Don't quite understand why OQO wouldn't update that.

Glad to hear this will work.

Maybe getting 7.1 sound would be doable with an external usb sound card.

With XP yes but not with Vista.  Been there, done that.

Since there are 7.1 sound cards for Vista, I assume you could not find one that connects via USB?

I believe on the 02, the issue wasn't whether you could find one, but that there woudl be enough processing power to make it useable. (USB Sound is processor heavy)

Vista choked the life out the CPU too much to make it useable.

Kyone correct me if I'm wrong.

Exactly.  My 01+ was fine with USB 5.1 and XP but my 02 cannot handle the same hardware with Vista.  Even the specs online say 5.1 with Vista needs a lot more processing power.  As for 7.1... no go.

I personally dont need 7.1.
If 5.1 works then thats good enough for me.
