Ok, this has NOTHING to do with OQO or UMPCs, technology, NOTHING whatsoever, but has anyone ever watched that show "Operation Repo" on TruTV? It's funny...

Tonights episodes...

1. Car got repoed on a couples wedding day with "Just Married" and cans tied to the back. The wife beat up the husband and said, "My mama told me not to marry your dumb broke a$$!"

2. This guy got his Mistu Montero repoed, poured a 5gallon can of gasoline in it then set it on fire as they had it hooked up!

3. This group of people at a restaurant tried to stop the vehicle from getting repoed, they hit a guy over the back with like a big bowl of salad, the big muscle body builder guy (Matt), picked up the guy and tossed him in a dumpster!

Well, whatever amuses you I guess!

This show reminds me of Cheaters - same principle.  You get a glimpse into the very sad lives of some unfortunate people.  At first it's fascinating, then ultimately you realize the whole thing is just sad.  I can't even imagine being filmed as my life is falling apart.

You have to wonder where they find these people!!

lol - is that a reality T.V. show or some kind of comedy based around the lives of repo guys. Cheesy Sounds too funny to be real.  Huh

I'm not much into reality T.V. but I did love a show that MTV (or Fox) did a few years back called 'The House of Carters'. Did you ever see that? I probably shouldn't admit it, but I'm a HUGE Aaron Carter fan (for those of you who know who he is). It was kind of weird, while everyone was listening to Metalica in highschool I was listening to Aaron - lol. I also listened to a singer called Adam Rickitt (but in hindsight that was only because it used to irritate my Dad so much - lol).

Gee, I'm growing older.  Shocked

Sandydlc,
Are you talking about me? I think it's a funny show to see the way people react when their vehicle is getting repoed, it's funny. Hey, the way I look at it is this... If you can't pay your bill, then just admit to it and let it go, but arguing with these guys when you know fully that they're going to take it regardless is pointless. PLUS, you always have the ability to get your vehicle back, you just got to pay what you owe.

And my 2cents is this... If you can get like "OctoMom" and all these other people to have dumb shows where we follow them around, and they get paid for it, why can't we have a repo show? I don't think it's as bad as cheaters because on that show you can really ruin people and their relationship. On this show, at least it's like, "Well, obviously you put your money on other stuff you felt was more important or you are living outside your means of income so that's your fault, nobody elses as to why you have an Audi and a Porsche but can't make the payments so it gets repoed. "

I have my daughter watch sometimes because she's always saying "I WANT. I WANT" and its been getting worse since the people she goes to school with are all spoiled because their parents do not want them to grow up and move away (its a control thing in this area where the family has to control EVERYTHING about their children). But I'll be d@mned if my children are going to not leave the nest, experience life, and have to learn the vaule of working for things they want (JUST LIK EI DID ) so they learn the value of hard work, a dollar, and buying things with your OWN money and having to treat them nicely instead of abusing them like she does now (she's my step-daughter).

But when she breaks something, her mom used to just go buy a new one so things would last like a week or two at most, then it'd be broken or she'd give it away to her friends and never get it back. It's like the TV she had in her bedroom (she's 9), I took it out, she got mad. She's living with her grandma now and has a new 27" flatpanel TV in her room with cable and a DVD player. When she comes back to living with her mother and I in August, there will be NO TV in her room unless she buys it and contributes to the cable bill. I had no TV in my room when I grew up and I don't think I turned out bad.

Stu, they follow these repo guys around who are based out of California and it's hysterical. I'd say it's like reality, but it's funny to watch and see people's reactions. Monday night has a new episode, the previews show them repoing a private jet! The owner (former owner) is all pissed, pushing the guys around saying, "I'm going to own you! I'm going to own you!"

It's a good show, good laughs, funny stuff. Like I said in the above post, if you can't pay the note, don't expect to keep your stuff. I don't try to do anything like that, and I think it's just like the culture of Americans now since credit is so widely availalbe and it's a "keep up with the Jones" mentality but if you can't afford it, don't buy it.

I just might have to watch that.  What channel is it on?

I always loved Cheaters too.  I love when people get what they deserve.  And I agree, if they want to make an [bleep] out of themselves on camera go for.  If I was paying for a car and, for whatever reason, couldn't pay for it; #1 I would be proactive and #2 just let it go.  The fact that they act completely knave and ignorant is why it's so comical.

I agree. People who feel bad for these folks are kind of missing the point. Nobody forced them to overextend themselves. I mean you can argue that they are poor and just trying to get by, or that they lost a job, but you NEVER see some old chevy getting repo'ed. It's always nice cars. Living within your means is a point that America has forgotten, feeling sorry is the wrong solution. People who lived through the great depression had for worse lifes, and yet they learned from it.

I need to check the show out, hopefully there are some youtube clips availible.

Last night, they had a pizza delivery guy who got his 1992 Geo Tracker repoed! The guy tried to bribe them with pizza and rode on the hood and roof for like 8 city blocks! Another guy threw a bowling ball through the window of his Dodge Caliber! The big, muscle guy (matt) got shot by some drunk old dude with a tazer and pissed in his pants!

The funniest one that I saw last night was a guy who came out dressed link a ninja and started whailing with nunchucks (sp) to go after the guy Matt but he just laughed (matt). I love it, it's hysterical. One old dude started to hit on the guys 20-year old daughter, it's so funny.
