He dropped another unsubstantiated bombshell today. 

I MADE THE MISTAKE OF BELIEVING this idiot and the crap he said & propagating it.  I was wrong.

HE IS TOTALLY FOS!!!


I am now of the mind this guy is some sort of

If readers have questions about their order or anything to do with OQO & Vista, new model, whatever, I would urge you to pick up the phone and call them directly in SF, they will be happy to talk to you and explain the situation.

Mine has been in "order received" state for a few days already, still hasn't changed. Order was placed 1/29/07. Hope it will show up soon...

My order (Best, Vista Bus., Verizon) was placed on 3/15 and changed to "order approved" sometime this week.  Patiently waiting...

You ordered yours on 3/15 and it is in the same staus as mine and I ordered intially on 1/15. Granted I changed to reflect the verizon when that was available.  I was reassured by OQO that this would not affect my status.

I am really getting fed up with this situation, being kept in the dark and weeks turning into months waiting for this unit.

I for one am going to write a letter to Jory Bell and let him know what's on my mind and while I will be complimenting him on his new unit I will be lodging a complaint on the tardiness and lack of communication his company has had with their customers.

I sold my OQO months ago in anticipation of the arrival of the new unit, and now my Gateway laptop is showing signs of needing to be serviced.  Just the other day I lost a lot of information and had to reformat the drive.  I can not send this in untill I have another unit, so I am getting a little perturbed at this long delay.

Just give us an explanation, is it not working, are you swamped with orders, is your production facility on strike, tell us something Mr. Bell, it's the right thing to do.

Well I ordered Vista - Best - Sprint -- original order was on 1/7 - updated to Vista as soon as was available - but order date still shows 1/7.  My order is still in the received status not even approved, so you've at least jumped ahead of me.  In one week it will be 4 months since placing this order based upon Jory's 6-8 week statement.  I am about ready to cancel my order.  I starting to think I can find something better to spend my $2500 on.  Something I can actually enjoy now! >

My order status changed: I cancelled the Verizon WWAN, instead opting for the Sprint card.  Recently I learned how Verizon defines "Unlimited" as 5 GB, and charges an early cancellation fee if you go over the 5GB limit, even though they are the ones stopping the service.  Even though Sprint has slower service in my area, I can use the service as much as I want.  Besides, Sprint is planning to increase EVDO coverage areas by like 150% over the next year.

I just spoke to a very nice women by the name of Julia Pearson at OQO in SF. 

She gave me some interesting information regarding Verizon EVDO, ITs SHIPPING NOW this very minute!

HOWEVER,

Not with Vista.  only with XP pro and Tablet.

Vista is not ready yet, it is still in Q & A and she said if everything goes OK should be released next week.

I heard that and thought, that is far from definate and knowing Vista like I know Vista, it may very well not pass Q & A this week or the following week for that matter. 

Let's face it, Vista is buggy and I have had so many problems all over the place with it on my motion and my gateway tablet that I was just the other day thinking that I might have made a mistake by putting Vista on my brand new 02 right away instead of waiting untill all the bugs have been worked out.


SOOOOO...I asked her if I could switch to something that would ship sooner, and the answer was yes, so I switched to XP pro with Verizon evdo, and will do the upgrade myself at a later point.

It will ship within a week she said. 

BINGO!!

OQO IS TOTAL FRAUD....NOW I am hearing that the shipment of OQO 2 with Vista will start in June.  This Company needs to be sued.... Some are even saying that due to serious issues with Vista on OQO 2,  the shipment may get further delayed till August......

Actually I met Eric through a very good friend of mine...  I was told to keep this news confidential but then it would just not be fair to keep all you guys in the dark who are so desperately waiting for their OQO 2.....

I am now waiting for OQO 2+ (with Intel) which should be out sometime in July...

well the cat is out of the bag and this news is going to have severe and I mean really severe ramifications for OQO and its sales.

This is going to be picked up by every blogger and then every gadget news site around the world in 2 seconds flat. 

OQO is going to be forced to respond to the situation on way or another.

I for one do not really know what the differance between an Intel and VIA C7M ULV processor

If I were to guess it probably has something to do with power consumption, someone correct me if I am wrong. 

In fact someone should let us all know the merits of one versus the other.

John , you may be right, but as these are your first posts on the forum today I'm being cautious.
What puts this in doubt for me is Kendrick I believe has successfully installed Vista and demo'd it, without any reports of problems.
Of course, their could be a hidden issue that hasn't emerged yet.
Lets wait for what OQO are going to say about this. I am sure people are calling them up right now from this forum and Handtops.com about their preorders.
