I realize that this is a Linux forum, but between Windows and Linux, Linux is the closest to OpenBSD.

I recently picked up a used OQO 1+, and have installed OpenBSD 4.6 on it. I'm running into some issues and wondered if anyone here had tested oBSD on the OQO.

Doesn't seem like there is much interest here, but OpenBSD does install. It looks like it detects the WiFi and BT. Got connected online. Haven't done much else though. X configuration and power management will be next.

X configuration should be pretty much the same as linux---use the siliconmotion driver 1.71 or newer, and you should be pretty much set.

Power management should work with ACPI mostly fine (NB: there is no APM support), however a patch was needed before linux could turn it off via ACPI.

I would say you are right, but I've been pulling out my hair trying to get the silicon motion driver to work. I've tried the magic modeline from linux with no avail, I get X to come up but it's still monochrome and quite unbearable. The mouse is also not being recognized by the kernel, so that'll be an adventure too!

The trackpoint needed linux's 'i8042.noloop' kernel parameter set before it worked[1].  Nowadays it's set automatically.  Not sure if OpenBSD has an equivalent option but this may well give you a lead.

Not sure why you'd end up with a monochrome display though.  Are there any interesting messages in the log?  This is my xorg.conf if it helps:-
