My OQO 2 (60GB, 1.50 GHz Vista Business) refuses to power up beyond the initial OQO logo while powering up. I have tried to power up to with just mains power (without battery fitted) & with just the battery fitted. Fan is running at a reasonably normal speed. The battery is flat & has not expanded. Any help appreciated.

Have you tried using F2 to enter the OQO bios? Also, if you have any bootable USB devices (flash drives with OS or USB CD drive), then try those.
If possible, at least try to find out the condition of the internal HDD.

I have tried using F2 as you suggest & also using a USB directly with the OQO & via a mains powered USB hub. When powering up, the OQO logo appears almost immediately without any "thinking time".

The OQO model 2 allows you to enter the BIOS setup screen by pressing FN DELETE when you start the computer. If you can disable the, "Graphical /Audio POST," in, "BIOS Configuration," then you might be able to see an error message when the computer starts up instead of staring at an unhelpful OQO logo graphic.

hello.I'm french so sorry for my english. have you try to use a usb keyboard to enter to bios by pressing fn+delete. some oqo have a keyboard failure can be solve by modify a bios setting whith a external keyboard. if you can't enter to bios whith a external keyboard you have a hardware problem like motherboard fail or other parts.

Does it reboot when you press Fn followed by Esc?

I have just powered up my OQO, having left it for a few hours. This time the OQO powered pass the OQO logo onto the Safe Mode Option without me pushing any keys. I can get into the "Advanced Boot Options" but how do I specifically get to the BIOS setup screen as suggested by qx773?

I have carried out as above ("write to CMOS & exit" I presume is correct to save & exit?) No OQO logo appears, just a flashing cursor & the OQO seems to fire up as normal. Are there any other checks I can do beyond this?

You could also try vacuuming the dust out of the air vents in your OQO computer.

You can disable quick boot in the BIOS.
By disabling Quick Boot in the BIOS, what will change?
