Gosh, I got more problems on the OQO 2.  Now the zoom is not working.   The scroll function works.   Does anyone know what I should do? Thanks in advance

The zoom only works with the OQO certified S3 video drivers.  If you have updated the video driver the zoom will no longer work.  The zoom feature is actually part of the S3 driver and not OQO software.

You might also have an issue with the OQO manager.  The OQO manager maps the zoom keys to the S3 video driver zoom.

what software changes have you made?  what os are you running and is it an 02 or e2?

the first thing I would do is uninstal your OQO manager and also the video driver.

download the drivers found on oqo.com, save to a file.
unzip the driver folder
right click on the application file
go to properties, compatibility, compatibility mode, select you OS, apply
install the driver and restart...
that should fix your problem

Thank you all for your input. The strange thing is that the zoom sometimes works, and sometimes does not. Frustrating.  But I will try to download the OQO Manager.  I hope I don't screw it up.

I hope I don't screw it up.

You won't, it's seriously really easy so don't stress. All you need to do is remove the old OQO Manager (from 'Add / Remove' in 'Control Panel'), restart your computer and then reinstall the downloaded OQO Manager. Out of curiousity, what OS are you using?

stuart:

Sorry, I didn't check on this board the last couple of weeks. But I am using Vista ultimate.  Thanks for your input.

Quite often this can be resolved by a soft reboot.

If you select sleep in the Vista menu and then wake the unit up by pressing the power button for 1 second, it reloads OQO manager in the bios and resets the S3 zoom mode.

If that doesn't work then press Fn Rotate.

This is an OQO S3 video rotation setting.

Once the screen has rotated, press Fn Rotate again to return to normal view (you may find your desktop icons rearranged).

The zoom will now work.

The video memory has to be 32MB or greater in the BIOS setup for zoom to work, although that might not be the cause of your particular problem.
