Ok, we need someone who is willing to ship his OQO to China for about 2 weeks.  Runcore wants to figure out what is going on with the OQO Hybernate issue.

Preferable someone who is having this trouble right now with a Runcore drive.  When we fix the issue your OQO will be coming back with a new SSD in it.

Anyone want to take this bullet for the community?  Be a Hero

I need someone now the guys in CHina are ready to fix the problem.

What hibernate issue? The Pro IV ZIP SSD with the latest firmware (ver.1916) works just fine with sleep and hibernate.

Are you 100% sure of that because I thought I have seen reports of the new FW fixing this issue but in another thread here I saw someone did the upgrade but they are still having the issue it is just not happening as often.  Hopefully more people can chime in here with more info.

Ok I just spoke with Steve he said the only remaining issue is this.

#1 Put the computer into Hibernate
#2 Remove all Power
#3 Reconnect Power
#4 Try to resume

Result Boot Disk not found

Fix reboot the device and the drive is found again.

He says this also happens rarely if the computer is in the off with no power.

Does anyone else know of any other issues or could add to the comments above?

Yes, confirmed it's fixed. Tested in both Windows XP and Windows 7. Was able to resume from sleep and hibernation (including removing and reconnecting battery) without problems. Maybe the firmware works better for different batches. I'm on RCP-IV-Z1864-C with Samsung D die 8 piece flash.

And it's guinea pig, not ginny pig Wink

seems very strange as none of these issues have bothered me.
trying very hard not to sound cynical but is someone wanting a free oqo.or has the rugby earnings dried up.

...is someone wanting a free oqo...
Good to be skeptical but at least the email address of runcore includes runcore.com.

This might not mean much since I don't have a lot of posts, but I have been a member of this site for a while and on very often.  Just don't post a lot.  I met Matt at CES and he is definitely a stand-up guy.  If my OQO was still working, I would have gladly sent him my unit.

I also did have the problem Steve described before my OQO died on me, but it wasn't a big enough deal for me.

I sent a 1.6 unit to him for testing earlier this week.  After the comments posted here, and testing they performed on the unit with a 128GB runcore ssd, they were satisfied that the problem has been resolved and sent the unit back via overnight delivery and I received it Friday in the same condition that I had sent it.  Since it did not go to China I did not ask for a free ssd drive.  That would be a bit much to ask for the loan of a unit for two days.  They did send the 128 ssd in the unit for me to try out and even included the packaging and a self addressed label for return shipping for the ssd drive.  Nice guys that did not steal or damage my unit in any way.   It does give an added assurance to any of you who want to use the Runcore drive which was my hope, and their intention.  Any improvements or additions to the 02 are a plus to us all.

thats good to get a positive outcome.sorry to sound sceptical about the whole episode,i dare say just because it worked in my oqo and now vaio p without any issues i just assumed the latest model of ssd worked across the board,as for the free ssd on offer my comments pointed to the fact that in life if a deal is too good to be true then it usually is.
glad i have been left to eat my words and my faith is restored again in human nature
