terran, when resuming from sleep mode if you rotate while sitting at the logon screen (before signing on) a few beeps can be heard. Then after logon there are several error messages stacked on top of eachother saying: "ChangeDisplaySettings API failed".

Windows holds the logon screen captive while the computer boots behind it until someone enters the correct password. During this time, any "internal" requests to change the Display Settings are inhibited. You may have to add a condition only permitting rotation detection after a successful Windows login.

Terran,

Awesome job!  This app is now an OQO must have!  The bug t1k mentioned does not happen in Vista Business, but the screen does not rotate at the login screen.

Nix that.  t1k's comment applies in my Vista Business install as well.

Terran,

does your screen rotation (which by the way is totally cool) in any way interfere with the OQO's drop protection feature since they are using the same sensor?

Thanks,
Wolfgang

it won't interfere with drop detection.  the firmware is checking the accelerometer data much much faster than any windows app could.

Thanks for chiming in there, Brandon. Wink Indeed. There is no interference.

That's a different error. Will look into that, thanks!

Re-Confirming: "ChangeDisplaySettings API failed" bug is history on my machine.

Perhaps those of you who are experiencing problems can provide some more field data for troubleshooting? For example: My machine specs are in my sig, I'm using the default Settings terran provided, the .DLL is installed in the Win32 System Dir, and I can confirm I have replaced both the .EXE and .INI .CONFIG (correction) files to the latest version. (btw way terran, you might wanna start using vers numbers in your properties so it'll be easier)

Also, for Vista users a caveat: When opening zipfiles and copying them over existing files and choosing "Copy, but keep both files", Vista reminds you: "The file you are copying will be renamed "test(2).txt" This means your existing file remains intact (doesn't get replaced), the NEW file gets copied and renamed.

Both links are now updated...correcting the latest issue. I've also added a version number (thanks t1k). Currently v1.2.

My links in the first post of this thread also pull down these latest files. So, to get the latest, you can simply download from the first post...instead of trying to dig through this thread to find my posts that have links in them.

As always, enjoy!
